Top Gear phenomenon explored on US TV

A nice 15-minute segment on Top Gear and its enduring appeal aired on the US documentary series 60 minutes yesterday and is available for your online viewing pleasure.

Here's a little tip if you have problems watching it outside the US. Download Hotspot Shield, which gives you a temporary US IP address and works with some online TV services.

Hotspot Shield is also very useful when you're on an open wifi connection, since it makes your network activity difficult for would-be hackers to trace.

That is the end of this public service announcement.

Incidentally, a full American version of Top Gear is scheduled to begin transmission later this year
